A Note From Laura
Hello! Thanks for stopping by on this page! This collection of my paper collage artwork features some of my favourite farmyard animals.
From as young as I can remember, I've had an obsession with animals and always especially loved a trip to the farm.
I remember bottle feeding lambs, petting donkeys, battling with the goats over the food bag and I was never afraid to let the cows lick food from my hand. They just always make me smile - and that's why I made this collection!
When making my paper collage artwork, I carefuly selected interesting expressions and poses to represent the characters of these amazing animals and to make the viewer smile.
So, why am I giving my art away at such a low price?

Firstly, I believe that art should be for everyone. I want others to get enjoyment from my art as much as I did by making it. I hope that when you display these pieces of art, they make you happy.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Laura Carter
Hello! I'm Laura, an artist from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, and I run my small art business called 'Paper Whiskers Art'. My artwork combines paper collage skills with a deep passion for animals and wildlife. Each artwork I create involves meticulously selecting the perfect colors and shades from my extensive collection of colored, patterned, and textured papers (mostly wallpaper samples). Through cutting, ripping, and layering the paper, I build up tactile and textured pieces of art.
So, how did I stumble upon paper collage? It all began when I discovered leftover wallpaper samples from a recent decorating project. By chance, one of the samples matched the color of my cat's fur, resulting in me creating my very first, albeit simplistic, paper collage of my cat, Millie.
My cutting and collage skills have evolved, allowing me to add a different level of detail to my animal portraits. As I have a soft spot for baby animals (and who doesn't?), my favorite thing to create are paper collages that capture those tender moments between mother and baby animals.
Since 'Paper Whiskers' began, I've completed numerous pet portraits and exhibited my artwork across the United Kingdom. In 2022, I had the privilege of being selected as a finalist in the Sketch For Survival 2022 competition. My red panda artwork, "Bao the Red Panda," was showcased in Gallery@OXO, London, with all proceeds from its sale benefiting conservation charities worldwide.
I have since taken part in many other exhibitions around the UK and I look forward to future exhibitions and getting involved in more opportunities to support conservation.
